An Invitation From Dr. Pettibon

"How well has chiropractic been providing health care that enables the human spine to maintain its optimal structure for normal function?

My quest for the answer to that question started as a student at Cleveland Chiropractic College almost 50 years ago when I realized that there was no model of a 'normal' spine. With no optimum normal or optimum spinal position, there are no origins to measure from. To quote Jack Welch, a former CEO of GE: 'One can't prove, disprove or improve that which one can't measure.'

In the late 1960s and early 1970s, I established a model of the optimum upright spine and procedures for taking, marking, and measuring pre and post-treatment x-rays that can prove spine and posture correction. Coupled with clinic and home care rehabilitation procedures, and research-tested mobilization techniques and equipment, practitioners of The Pettibon System can deliver on the promise of chiropractic.

More than 65 million Americans suffer from back pain. Medical bills, disability, and lost productivity cost our country over $100 billion annually. The Pettibon System offers one solution to that affliction. It's a solution that goes beyond pain relief to permanent correction.

The Pettibon Institute is dedicated to research that supports The Pettibon System's efficacy and to an evidence-based program of study that spreads its practice. We invite you to join in making our vision a reality!"
